XML roll language?

I'm getting a crack at 2.6 now and seeing what I have to change on my site (this will take a while, as I have a huge backlog of stuff from 2.5 that I wanted to post). Anyways, for those of us who are curious, has there been any thought of using XML is a (potentially more powerful) roll language? (ak...

Sorting the list of custom dice

In the custom dice menu, it seems that the custom dice, beyond dividing numeric and text dice, are not sorted in any particular order. Can we please have, for 2.6, it sorted based on name or description?

"Same as Label" and formatted text

I'm starting to make more custom dice, and one of the custom dice that I'm doing is a game called Shake. It's a reasonably simple dice game for which nearly everything can be implemented in The Dicenomicon now (and with 2.6, with greater convenience if we can make our own badges). But enough about t...

Re: Loaded dice?

Right now, you can't make loaded dice in the sense that one face is weighted, but you can make cheater's dice (eg. a d6 with all 5s, say).

You can even override the default die with a custom die, so you can replace your d6 with a custom d6, so it has part of your effect...

Curious, possibly ambiguous

Having never tried this, I'm wondering if anyone has tried it out:

1. Create a custom numeric die called FH6.
2. Roll 7dFH6.

Would this roll 7 dF and keep the highest 6, or roll 7 of your custom die? How you you explicitly force one or the other meaning?

Re: Fudge Dice Formula

So 5dFH4 doesn't work for you? How about sum(high4(5dF@))? Please post the formula you used.

Re: All rolls result in ZERO?

Details please. What were you trying to roll? Freeform? Custom roll? Macro?

Because I'm certainly not having this problem.

Re: Macros over custom dice

I stand corrected on numeric dice, but... A whole lot of rolls in the C&C series (I'll use BattleLore here, but it very well applies to M44 or CCA - especially M44) either rely on macros over text dice (possibly multivariate macros, but that's for another day). I'd clearly like to say 3tBattleLore6H...

Macros over custom dice

It looks like The Dicenomicon doesn't support using a macro over a custom die (numeric or text). This has potentially interesting applications, with BattleLore being of particular interest. (I haven't posted the custom BattleLore die, which is a text die, on my site, but maybe soon). Among one of th...

Re: Dice Pools

Interesting... What about the following First have a global variable that a list of all of the dice rolls. Then have another variable that is a list of the same length that is initially filled with zeros. Then roll a dx, with x being the length of the lists. Take the result and store it as a tempor...

Dice Pools

Suppose you have a dice game that uses a lot of dice (not necessarily all the same), and on each turn you roll a randomly chosen subset of them. (This subset is not determined by more dice rolls, but assume that it is of a fixed size) Now also consider the case where dice are excluded from the pool ...

Re: 2.5 bug reports

New info on existing bug: As you may or may not know, custom dice may or may not appear in the roll bar. For dice with custom roll graphics, it appears that if it doesn't appear, you can go into the menu and back out and the dice will appear in the roll bar. However, once you do that it appears you ...

Re: 2.5 bug reports

New bug to report: The Dicenomicon Server will not apparently accept input on parameter info past the fourth parameter. On the iPhone interface, you can enter info on parameters past the fourth, but when the roll is used you can't modify these parameters. Here's some code from "Conquest of the Empir...

Custom die graphic bounds

Made my first custom d8 today (if you want to ask, it's for a recently released Hasbro expansion to Monopoly), and after a little bit of finagling with graphics (and after recalling previous experiences with custom d6) it's apparent that a 64 x 64 png will cause the graphics to bleed straight to the...

Ah - I was thinking you were talking about the formula language, which is something completely different.
