Re: 3.5e DB

It turns out that this (sort of) broke with a change in iOS 5 having to do with the difference between a "parentViewController" and a "presentingViewController". Basically it means that the dismiss button doesn't actually dismiss the screen on iOS 5 & 6. However, the database is properly downloaded ...

Re: Using # paramaters as macro parameters

I think I've found the problem - somehow the macro number gets off by one (when you edit #2, it thinks you are editing #1, and editing #1 edits #0, and #0 edits #-1 which crashes).

Not sure of a good workaround yet

Re: Dice customisation (help!)

Actually, Descent turns out to be a really good example of a game that works well with a custom die bar with custom evaluator in a character sheet (well, other than the fact that version 1.0 vs 2.0 are different). I'm working on something now for it as a test case for the next release - I'll get you...

Re: "Active" Character Sheets

No. Active character sheets are created directly using Xcode (or more specifically, they are xib files that are compiled in the build process), and so there is no practical way to have third parties create them currently. In theory it may be possible, but it may also violate AppStore policies to dow...

Re: Newbie character sheet question: referring to list items

Code: Select all

length(gt6(@STR,@INT,@WIS,@DEX,@CON,@CHA))
is a quick an easy way to find all the elements (from a list or set of variables) that are greater than 6 and then count how many there are.

Re: Dice customisation (help!)

So if you change the values of the dice to something like "r=0|d=0|s=0", "r=2|d=2|s=0", "r=3|d=2|s=0", "r=5|d=1|s=0", "r=6|d=1|s=1", "r=4|d=2|s=0" you can do something like: @X ← 3tDesc6. @R ←sum(FOR @I in @X do @I["r"] end). @D ←sum(FOR @I in @X do @I["d"] end). @S ←sum(FOR @I in @X do @I["s"] end)...

You can copy a PDF file to the documents via iTunes, and then set the "Active Background" to be that PDF file (which you can then easily browse, flip through, etc...)

Re: Hit & Dmg In One Roll?

Not a single roll formula, no. The basic rule is that the output from one die-roll specification can not be used to determine the number of dice to roll in another die-roll specification later in that same roll formula (Yes, I've totally overloaded the term "roll" here) Basically, the engine needs t...

Re: UI Suggestion

At this point, most anything I add to Astrolgo is based entirely on user feedback (since it does everything I'm interested in/understand), so if you don't ask, it won't be there. (It may not be there if you ask, but hey, at least it'll be on the list of potential features for a future version!) Note...

Re: A different sort of botch.

I'm trying to think of a good way to do it, but I'm not sure of a good solution for this. Trying to get "cross-dice" dependancies before rerolls is tough, since the "roll a dice" macros are at a completely separate layer (and time) than the "evaluate the result of the dice rolls" layer.

Re: UI Suggestion

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, for some of the pages that include horizontal scrolling (like the aspect page, potentially others in the future), swiping as an action doesn't work well when you can also scroll in that same direction. Way too often you end up swiping when you want to scroll o...

Re: Move Game Rooms

The easiest way is to export them as XML (go to the game room in the settings and then tap "Export To Documents"). Then connect via iTunes and the xml file will be in the File Sharing section of the "Apps" tab for the device. Drag to the desktop, plug in your new device, drag the file to the new dev...
