Could you tell me the meaning of Face North and Face South ?

If you face south, the sun rises on the left and sets on the right. If you face north, the sun rises on the right and sets on the left.

Most people in the northern hemisphere would want "face south".

Yet an other question, what is the meaning of the D and H at the lower part. Also if you click on it does something happen ?
