Quadrium in 2009

Post by Pharmagician » Sat May 02, 2009 4:01 pm

Hi G - what news of developments with the quadrium family in 2009? I've been using Prime and 2 quite a lot recently and am wondering what (and when!) to expect of them and Flame... :D

A lot of my plans have had to be held based on Snow Leopard plans (which have finally been firmed out enough at WWDC).

I'm currently working on converting quadrium:2 to work with OpenCL (turns out that its architecture actually fits in quite nicely with OpenCL). Not sure if prime will fit as well, due to its use of higher precision values (I may switch to using OpenCL as a generic backend instead of directly working with LLVM). The drawback is that this work will only work on Snow Leopard (and thus only on intel based machines). This personally is a problem - all my OS X development is currently done on a dual G5 tower.
