I'm trying to use Cardographer with cards from the PlainCards store
http://www.plaincards.com/Shop/shopdisp ... tern+Backs)
These cards have a pre-printed back and a blank front. They come perforated on 8.5 x 11 sheets. There are 8 cards to a sheet, with two columns of 4 cards. The cards are 2 3/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches. The margins/gaps are as follows (assuming portrait layout):
top/bottom margin: 3/8 inches
left/right margin: 1/2 inches
space between each card: 1/4 inches
vertical gap between each column of cards: 1/2 inches
No matter how I set the card size in Cardographer, I can't get a printout to match the PlainCards. Any ideas? The combination of Cardographer and PlainCards seems perfect.

Congrats on getting ahold of them - I've tried several times to contact them with no success.
So the orientation looks roughly like:
[=][=]
[=][=]
[=][=]
[=][=]
By "space between each card", do you mean horizontal gap between each column (between the "]["), and "vertical gap" you actually mean between each row of cards?
column of 4 = 3/8 + 2 3/8 + 1/2 + 2 3/8 + 1/2 + 2 3/8 + 1/2 + 2 3/8 + 3/8 = 11.75
two rows = 3/8 + 3 1/2 + 1/4 + 3 1/2 + 3/8 = 8.0
(obviously that doesn't total to 8.5 x 11)
column of 4 = 3/8 + 2 3/8 + 1/4 + 2 3/8 + 1/4 + 2 3/8 + 1/4 + 2 3/8 + 3/8 = 11.0
two rows = 3/8 + 3 1/2 + 1/2 + 3 1/2 + 3/8 = 8.25
(that's closer, but not right either)
The fact that they are different is the source of the problem - I'll gladly release an update for this, since, like you said, these seem like a great combination.

The orientation is as you describe.

The interpretation below was right, and I've corrected the second line. Instead of 3/8 inch margins on the left and right, it's 1/2 inch margins, yielding:
column of 4 = 3/8 + 2 3/8 + 1/4 + 2 3/8 + 1/4 + 2 3/8 + 1/4 + 2 3/8 + 3/8 = 11.0
row = 1/2 + 3 1/2 + 1/2 + 3 1/2 + 1/2 = 8.5
