Odd Bug

Postby Alarian » Tue Nov 15, 2011 3:36 pm

Ever since I updated to IOS 5, I've been having a problem with the screen rotating when I swipe across the screen. I've attached a photo (sorry for the poor quality, took with my cell) to show whats going on.

Basically when I swipe the screen (most often when I do a 5 fingered swipe to change to another app I have running, instead of changing to the app I want, the screen rotates a random amount. Anywhere from about 25 degrees to anywhere on up to 270 degrees or so. Is there any way to prevent this or is anyone else having this problem? I can reproduce it 100% of the time when using the program.

You can make a snapshot of the screen of an iPad or iPhone by pressing the power button and home button at the same time. No need for another device to photograph it.

This is a "feature" that gets interfered with by the OS.

Basically, you use to be able to use two fingers to rotate/tilt the playfield (giving you a potentially nicer view of the dice). You can hit the "fast forward" button while rolling the dice (or double tap the re-roll button) and the dice will be sorted and this will be reset.

Unfortunately, this get confused with the four/five finger gestures (as well as the gestures to toggle the active background).

In version 3.1 I'll be requiring OS 4.x or later, so I can use the system gesture recognizers to drive this rotate/tilt feature, which should work nicer with multi-tasking gestures.

Yea, before OS 5 came out, I never had it happen once, now it's happening constantly to me. Thanks for telling me how to reset it. I've been having to turn off the Ipad completely to get it to reset. The double tap/fast forward thing is nice too. Great way to organize the dice. Thanks for the info.
